Something that really set Alexander’s writing apart was the tension created by and underlying threat that ran through the book. Kate is being stalked, and as her past catches up with her, both she and Edward will need to fight against it.

The anticipation that Maria K. Alexander makes you feel as you read this book will have you tied up I knots. I was thrilled with of turning every page. The love of a Philly Italian family and a reserved British aristocrat takes you on a real roller coaster ride. It had me laughing, crying and biting my nails. I hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I did.
I adored the story of Edward and Kate! What can I say about Edward? He's British (hello....accent), and hot. But also a little damaged from his upbringing. Kate is a hot-headed Italian chick with her own emotional baggage. What you have when they come together is a really sweet contemporary romance I would gladly recommend as a great read.
Well done, Maria K. Alexander. Looking forward to the next story.
A great read of two broken souls finding their way to love and to each other. The family dynamics added some depth to the story...especially Kate's family. They made me wish my family was that loving and affectionate. I hope Nick's story is next. He deserves some happiness.
I will definitely be reading more from this author.

WOW what a beautiful pain filled love story. This book had all kinds of emotions in it. Which I do love. Kate goes through a rough marriage that ends on a difficult path. Edward is a player with family issues of his own. Can they find love when there is danger thrown in the mix? I highly recommend this story.
I don't read long reviews so I don't make them either. This book was good , not great. I love a good romance and this marked most of the boxes. The characters were real and the storyline plausible, except for the déjà vu scene. I won't tell you what it is bug you will know when you read it.
Read this book if you like reading romance with great character development. Plus, it's not a trilogy.
This is a fantastic story. It keep me wanting to read without stopping. Even tho I've read the paper back already. Didn't realize it till I started reading and still didn't want to put it down.
Kate is a widow, who also lost her son and unborn child all at the hands of her husband. She has no plains to start over. She is happy with life the way it is. That is unroll Edward move to tow and she meets a 6 year old orphan who lost his family in a horrible accident. There is one person who will destroy Kate or shell I say take her as his own. Even if it's by force. This is a must read.
UNTANGLE MY HEART is a full length contemporary romance set during the Christmas holiday season, and it delivers plenty of homey, heartwarming atmosphere. Friends and family are plentiful and the cast felt integrated and emotionally connected in meaningful ways. Dialogue and description are good. The story is well written but there was the occasional scene transition that felt a little awkward.
I loved the English hero and the glimpses of U.K. culture he brought to the table. The author does a wonderful job of capturing his mannerisms and his word choice—often overly-polite-yet-zing!-sarcasm–dovetailed with his characterization. I found myself reading Edward's dialogue and scenes with a British narrator speaking in my head, which made this a very fun read. He is portrayed as a playboy but he loses some credibility as a philandering rogue when he fails to bed the heroine's slutty sister. Obviously, I liked him a lot because I'm going on and on about him like a teenage girl.
Heroine Kate initially comes across as not so nice, making it a bit harder to connect with her. She gives the hero the hot/cold shoulder, which is a trait that usually annoys me, especially when there's not an immediate apparent reason for it. However, as the story progresses, the reader gains deeper insight into her characterization and my attitude toward her warmed once it became clear that she had lost a two year old son to a tragic death.
The charming cast of interesting secondary characters leaves the author options for future books in the series. As is often the case, my favorite supporting cast member wound up being a child. Lucas is an endearing little boy who connects with the heroine while allowing the audience to establish empathy and trust. Unsavory characters provide a good mix of external conflict and the right element of danger for a novel of this length.
As the story opens, the hero and heroine shared a torrid affair summer before but they are not currently involved. As they work together to save Kate's family restaurant, they develop a close friendship while rekindling their mutual attraction. I often complain about having wanted love scenes to have been hotter. That won't be happening this time. The sexual sizzle in UNTANGLE MY HEART burned up the pages and then floated away in a column of smoke. (There is NO "I close my eyes and think of England" in this story. NO SIREE.)
